Emerging adulthood, a phrase that
I think suitable for depicting a developing phase from children to early teens.
My lovely organization on 11th October celebrated a decade of its
birthday. Then I would like to tell my wishes through this writing.
Psikologi Hijau is a student organization under regulation of the Psychological faculty of Diponegoro University. It concerns in the environment and outdoor activities. While the member also the student of psychology, many of outdoor activities conducted by IJO, a friendlier greeting for Psikologi Hijau, also focuses in the area of Psychology. Ijo runs their annual activities through annual agenda that systematically written in their project book. Some of interesting agenda are pre-basic training, basic training, rafting, coastal clean-up, and also seminars and many environmental actions. Moreover, the sense of togetherness of IJO member encourage an idea to conduct a national celebration party in with the inhabitants in the Promasan Village, Ungaran Central Java in August 2014. While another hikers or mountaineer addicts express celebrate the Indonesian celebration party in certain peak of mount, Ijo members share its happiness with local people that commonly as place of their annual basic training.
Moreover, joining as the member of IJO gives me plenty of experiences. I have been trained to become a secretary prior to take a responsibility as the head of Psikoloi Hijau in 2010. In this opportunity I learn more about the art of leading more interesting in outdoor situation. Wow kind a wonderful experience. The most memorable moment occurred in April 2011 when we caught down in a thunder storm while reach the peak of Ungaran Mount. With an altitude of 2020 MASL, lives of 50 members in on my shoulder which I should make their calm and guide to go down to the base camp. In this occasion, I learn how to motivate, how to build a trust among the coming freshman in the circumstance of their fear and how to be responsible. Fortunately, all of member succeed to pass the storm without any serious injuries.
However, Ijo teaches me to peel out my selfishness as we live in a society. I am very thankful that my sense of togetherness and also the sense to become socialist is raised in IJO. As result, Now I am working in the area of social worker to pursue my passion in helping people. All in all, what I have done for
Ijo just seen as a rice seed in comparison of what Ijo gives to me. I just want
to say thank you and wishes all the best for a decade of Psikologi Hijau.
